Libro colectivo sobre el espacio cívico y las OSC en América Latina
El Seminario de Investigación sobre Procesos Políticos y Electorales de la UNAM, bajo la coordinación del Dr. Pablo Armando González Ulloa Aguirre, invita a académicos y activistas de América Latina y el Caribe a colaborar en un libro colectivo sobre el estado del espacio cívico y los desafíos que enfrentan las Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil (OSC) en la región. Buscamos colaboraciones breves desde dos perspectivas complementarias en los siguientes países:

Call for Chapters: Future of the Third Sector in a Turbulent Era
How does the third sector respond to political, social, and technological transformations - and how does it contribute to shaping them? This is the central question addressed in the book The Third Sector in a Turbulent Era, edited by James Rees and Carol Jacklin-Jarvis, with publication scheduled by Edward Elgar for 2028. The call invites submissions covering topics such as democracy, participation, inequality, social cohesion, public services, and artificial intelligence, with a preference for critical, international, and comparative analyses.

Proposals should be approximately 400 words long and include a title, a central argument or research question, a theoretical/conceptual basis, and an explanation of how the work relates to the book’s theme. Please also include a brief biography and contact information.
Submissions should be sent by December 11, 2026, to james.rees@wlv.ac.uk and carol.jacklin-jarvis@open.ac.uk. Approximately eight chapters will be selected.

Faculty Opportunity: Nonprofit Leadership and Management at Arizona State University
Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Assistant Teaching Professor in Nonprofit Leadership and Management, starting in August 2027. Based at the Downtown Phoenix campus, this teaching-focused position requires physical presence and involves teaching four undergraduate or graduate courses per semester, alongside institutional and community service. Teaching areas may include philanthropy, civil society, leadership and ethics, nonprofit management, and social entrepreneurship. Research is not required.

Applicants must hold a doctorate in a relevant field by the appointment date, have three years of related nonprofit and teaching experience, and demonstrate a commitment to inclusion. Applications should include a statement of interest and teaching philosophy (maximum three pages), a CV, two examples demonstrating teaching effectiveness, and contact details for three references. The initial deadline is 1 December 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Arizona time; applications may be accepted afterward until the position is filled.

This special issue of Voluntary Sector Review explores how evaluation can improve philanthropy, focusing on relationships among donors, communities and fundraisers, and the institutional environments in which philanthropic action takes place. Contributions may examine what should be evaluated, for what purposes, whose criteria should guide evaluation, and what counts as credible evidence. The call welcomes academic research articles of up to 8,000 words and policy or practice papers of up to 4,000 words. The submission deadline is 17 January 2027.

For this special issue of Local Economy, we focus on the role of the social economy in local development and territorial cohesion. Among others, we welcome contributions exploring how cooperatives, associations, and social enterprises advance inclusive and sustainable development, interact with public policies, and address territorial inequalities. Topics include social innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, rural development, employment, impact measurement, and institutional and financial barriers. The submission deadline is 11 December 2026.
